THE THIRD MANDARIN FILM WEEK
Commemorative Collector’s Brochure
On 8 December 1971, Bruce Lee attended the Third Mandarin Film Week in Hong Kong at an extraordinary moment in his career. The Big Boss had become a phenomenal success and, almost overnight, Bruce had emerged as Hong Kong’s new screen sensation.
Inspired by Bruce Lee’s appearance at this historic event, this specially produced two-fold commemorative collector’s brochure recreates the look and atmosphere of a period Mandarin Film Week souvenir programme, celebrating a moment when Bruce stood on the threshold of international superstardom.
Designed with a deliberately authentic 1970s Hong Kong aesthetic, the brochure combines period-style typography, archival imagery and carefully aged artwork to evoke the character of the original event. The centrepiece is a striking photograph of Bruce Lee attending the occasion, capturing him during one of the most important transitional periods of his remarkable career.
Produced on substantial 350gsm stock, the brochure has been created as a physical display piece rather than simply a printed reproduction — something that can be opened, handled and enjoyed as part of a Bruce Lee collection.
Each brochure is accompanied by a beautiful A4 glossy colour photograph of Bruce Lee at the Mandarin Film Week event, providing a second display piece and completing this specially created collector’s package.
More than five decades later, The Third Mandarin Film Week Commemorative Collector’s Brochure offers a nostalgic tribute to a defining period in Bruce Lee’s Hong Kong years — when the success of The Big Boss had announced the arrival of a new star and everything that followed was still ahead of him.
